Pastor David Young
In February of 1981, I arrived in Westfield with my wife, Lisa, to serve as the church-planting pastor. Over 34 years later, we are still privileged to be here! What a joy it is to experience and witness God’s blessings upon this Body over the years. One does not have to be around here very long to realize that He is still blessing this church today. May all the praise and glory go to Him.
A graduate of Taylor University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, from which I received both my M. Div and Doctorate of Ministry.
Lisa and I are the proud parents of three grown daughters, Alathea, Bethany, and Linnea who all live in the midwest.
Pastor David Weaver
I don’t have anything close to a Southern accent, but I am actually a Texan, having been born in Lubbock TX. During my early years my dad was a pilot in the USAF, which means we moved a lot. Before I went to college, I had lived in Texas, Florida, England, Alabama, and New Jersey. I think somewhere along the way I gave up on developing an accent.
I became a follower of Christ at my parents’ bedside, when my mom explained the good news of the gospel and I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. My journey with Christ has been an adventure ever since. When I was a sophomore in high school, I felt Him leading me to serve in full-time ministry. After finishing college, I married my best friend, Wendy. We both attended Cedarville University, from which I graduated with a B.A. in Bible (Wendy got her B.S. in nursing). After I graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary, we served as missionaries with A.B.W.E. in Italy until 2006, when we returned to the U.S. and I served at a church in southern NJ. In the midst of all that, we were blessed with two boys we are so proud of, Jon and Nate.
Wendy and I are excited about what we see God doing here at WEFC and consider it a privilege to be able to serve the Lord here. If you spend time getting to know me, you will find that I am passionate about soccer (I am a diehard Manchester United fan), I love BBQ, wings, and pizza (pizza being my hands-down favorite), and there is a wide variety of music on my iPhone (though I can’t carry a tune).

Pastor Jeff Jones
jefJonesI grew up in the suburbs of Chicago in Northwest Indiana.  My parents starting following Jesus around the time that I was born, so I was blessed to grow up actively involved in the church.
My freshman year of college, I attended a one year discipleship program called Covenant Bible College in Colorado.  It was during this year that I grew exponentially in my relationship with Christ and felt God’s call into ministry and leadership in the local church. During this year, I also met my wife Jesse, who grew up in Hampden, MA.
Jesse and I transferred together to Philadelphia Biblical University (now Cairn University), where we graduated with a B.S. in Biblical Studies.
In September 2013, after spending three years as Director of Family Ministries at a church on the Jersey Shore, God called me to be Youth Pastor at WEFC.  Jesse and I have three beautiful daughters: Sophia, Olivia and Savannah.  We could not be more excited to be at WEFC and look forward to growing together with our new church family!
Pastor John Cruse
My physical life began in the deserts of Phoenix, Arizona and I am blessed to have a family who raised me in the truth and love of God. My spiritual life began at a youth retreat in Tennessee. It was during this retreat that God supernaturally called me out and began moving my life toward Christian ministry.
I graduated with a B.A. inBible and Sacred Music from the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, IL in 2004. I also met my wife, Karine, there. She also graduated with a degree in music from the Institute and now teaches piano.
I was Pastor of Music and Worship for four years at a church in Freeport, IL before God called me to come and serve on staff at Westfield Evangelical Free Church at the beginning of June 2008. I am very excited about the possibilities that are before us here at WEFC and I am blessed to be able to follow the call of Christ with such a wonderful family of believers.

Cheryl St. Onge
I was born in Springfield and moved to Westfield before my freshman year in high school. I always felt I was a little different from others around me because I wanted more meaning to my life and stayed away from so much of the trouble that others kept finding themselves in. In high school I met my husband Doug and then went on to graduate from Westfield State College with a Business Management degree. I worked in retail management for almost 8 years before I really experienced what Jesus had in store for me. We had been attending a local church that started to draw me closer to God, but it wasn’t until we attended a business seminar with a Sunday worship service that my life finally started to come into focus. Both my husband and I s
ubmitted our lives to Christ that very day, and we began attending WEFC in 1999. Since that time and through the birth of our two girls, Shelby & Megan, God has laid on my heart a desire and a passion to reach out to children through ministry. Through directing Vacation Bible School and assisting with the nurseries and children’s church programs, I knew God was calling me to serve in a greater capacity here at the church. In February ,2008, I accepted the position as our first Director of Children’s Ministries. It is a position that I love and am so excited to have a hand in planning our children’s futures here at WEFC. If you have any ideas on improving our programs or would like to volunteer, please contact me. I would love to add you to our team!

I grew up in the Berkshires and came to know the Lord personally in 1974 while living in Harrisburg, PA. My husband Ken and I have four grown children and six grandchildren.
After graduating from Berkshire Community College, I was secretary to the Assistant Athletic Director at UMass for two years, then I worked for a large law firm in Syracuse, NY. I also served as part-time secretary at the Christian Center in Burlington, MA. I have been working at WEFC since 1993, and it has been a blessing to serve this wonderful church family. Please don’t hesitate to call the office if I can be of assistance to you.
